National Ice Cream Day 2024 freebies and deals
To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, stores and shops across the U.S. will serve up special deals on delicious frozen treats.
In 1984, then-President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month, along with the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day.
This year, National Ice Cream Day falls on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Whether you’re a fan of classic vanilla or enjoy unique ice cream flavors, here’s the scoop on the best deals.
Dairy Queen deals
Dairy Queen Rewards members can get a free Dilly Bar with any order of $1 or more.

The DQ treat features a vanilla soft serve encased in a chocolate coating and served on a popsicle stick.
The freebie is available for one day only on July 21 at participating U.S. locations.
Carvel deals
According to Carvel, ice cream lovers can enjoy $6 off orders of $35 or more on Uber Eats and DoorDash from July 18 to July 21.
Additionally, the ice cream company is releasing of its newest merch collection Camp Carvel, which features hiking items including badges, tees and more.
Van Leeuwen deals
Sanrio, the global lifestyle brand best known for Hello Kitty, has partnered with Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, to introduce a Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary flavor on National Ice Cream Day.
For one day only, pints of the Yummy Berry White Chocolate Truffle Ice Cream will be available to purchase nationwide at Van Leeuwen scoop shops.
The flavor blends white chocolate ice cream with swirls of raspberry jam and chunks of truffle brownies.
The company will also donate 50% of the profits to kindness.org, a nonprofit on a mission to educate and inspire people to choose kindness.
McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams deals
From July 19 to July 21, McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams is offering 15% off all pints on their site.
To redeem, ice cream fans must use code NICD24 at check-out.

For California locals, McConnell’s is offering a buy 3 pints, get 1 free sale in all scoop shops.
Dippin’ Dots
Dippin’ Dots will serve free mini cups of ice cream at 120 spots nationwide. Additionally, Dippin’ Dots is hosting an ice cream extravaganza in partnership with the Museum of Ice Cream in New York City, Austin and Chicago.
"We can’t wait to treat our loyal Dippin' Dots fans all across the country to our biggest National Ice Cream Day celebration ever," said Kimmra Hingher, vice president of marketing at J&J Snack Food Corp., the parent company of Dippin' Dots. "We've made sure there's something sweet for everyone to enjoy and to re-live those childhood memories this weekend."

Salt & Straw
Salt & Straw is participating in National Ice Cream Day with a promotion that offers a free pint with the purchase of three pints via local delivery and with the purchase of five pints nationwide when you order on saltandstraw.com.

You can choose from their menu of 13 classic flavors or July’s monthly menu called "The Berries Series" which features a selection of five flavors inspired by the Pacific Northwest’s berries.
The offer is valid between July 19 and July 21 with the code NICD2024 at checkout.
Jeni’s deals
From July 20 through August 2, select Jeni’s flavors will be available for only $8 a pint (a 33% discount).
Additionally, Jeni’s Splendid Rewards members get early access starting on the 19.

Talenti deals
When is the best time to cure a "case of the Mondays"? Talenti says it is the day after National Ice Cream Day, when a sweet treat is needed to get back into the swing of things.
For National Ice Cream Day, Talenti is debuting the "Case of the Mondaes" kit for free beginning July 20, through July 22.

Each kit is designed to mimic trendy champagne sorbet punches and will be offered exclusively on DoorDash in New York City, Chicago and Dallas.
Nescafe deals
Nescafe is dropping affogatos to let ice cream fans skip the sundae and indulge in the classic Italian dessert in three easy steps - scoop, stir and pour over ice cream.

According to the ice cream company, 50 fans will receive a pool pack, Picnic Pack or Summer Pack featuring seasonal goodies. In addition, one grand final prize will be awarded on National Ice Cream Day and will include free My/Mochi ice cream for a year (52 boxes).
