Pizza is a favorite dish for many and depending on your preference, it can be eaten plain or with toppings. However, a recent survey revealed that one topping is required for fans of the Italian dish.

Pepperoni was ranked as the most popular topping on pizza among 67% of respondents, according to a survey from BLACK+DECKER.

The other popular toppings people polled said they like are sausage (44%), bacon (39%), mushrooms (32%) and onions (26%).

Meanwhile, the least popular toppings among respondents are anchovies, arugula, eggplant, shrimp, and pickles.

Toppings were not the only foods people enjoyed on their pizza but also dipping sauces with garlic butter and ranch dressing ranked at the top among pizza lovers.

The survey polled people 18 and older who eat pizza at least a few times a month.
