MONSOON 2017: storms wreak havoc on parts of Phoenix and other Valley cities

Thursday evening's powerful monsoon storm has brought flooding and damage in parts of Phoenix, as well as other cities across the Valley.

Besides causing flooding and power outages, the storm has also caused some damage to the Phoenix Zoo, causing officials to announce the zoo's closure for Friday.

In addition, the Goodwill Store at Gilbert and University in the East Valley is damaged, after parts of the roof caved in. Many things inside the store was reportedly soaked.

National Weather Service officials in Phoenix also said a landspout tornado formed briefly south of Downtown Phoenix, during the storm.
