Mesa woman with Asperger's Syndrome, toddler safe after being reported missing
MESA, Ariz. - The Mesa Police Department says a 24-year-old woman with Asperger's Syndrome was missing, along with her three-year-old son, but are now safe and sound.
Myria Homminga and Carson were last seen on Oct. 23 around 10:45 p.m. near Alma School Road and Main Street. They left in a silver sedan with an unknown license plate.
Family was concerned because they say Myria has the mental capacity of a young teenager and is uncertain if she can properly care for her child.
However, on Sunday, the police department said, "Myria reached out to her family and said she is fine and does not want to be bothered. She was asked to contact the missing person investigator. The bulletin will remain active until a welfare check is completed."
A welfare check was done Sunday night and police say she and her son are in fact safe.
