Man wanted by Apache authorities in connection with death of toddler
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A man is wanted by tribal authorities in connection with the death of a 1-year-old girl on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation Monday.
According to a statement released by Gwendena Lee-Gatewood, Chairwoman of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, 21-year-old Jericho Naha is the boyfriend of the one-year-old's mother. The victim died Monday, as a result of injuries.
In the statement, authorities did not elaborate on the injuries sustained by the girl.
The toddler's mother, according to the statement, is in custody, but her identity was not released in the statement. The Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement is handling the investigation, with assistance from the Whiteriver Police Department.
