Man shot after fight escalates in downtown Phoenix

Phoenix police are investigating a shooting near 1st Street and Washington that left one man with a gunshot wound early Saturday morning.

Officials say they responded to a shooting call downtown at around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 23. 

A group of people were reportedly involved in a physical fight, which then led to shots being fired.

One person was injured in the shooting and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police did not say if any arrests have been made, and no identities were released.
