Man, juvenile injured in shooting in Maricopa County
MARICOPA COUNTY, Ariz. - A man and juvenile were injured in a shooting in Maricopa County on Tuesday afternoon.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 31, deputies responded to reports of a shooting near Alma School and Riggs roads.
The investigation then led deputies to I-10, closing some lanes on the highway.
"It was learned that two people were shot in the area and drove themselves near the I-10 and Queen Creek. One adult male and one juvenile were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," the sheriff's office said.
What led up to the shooting is still under investigation. Deputies say there's no suspect information at this time.
Lanes on the highway have reopened.
