PHOENIX - A man riding a dirt bike in north Phoenix died after crashing into a police officer's SUV, the department said.
Police say 32-year-old Brant Antwon Deshawn crashed into a fully-marked Phoenix Police Tahoe that was making a left turn near 39th Avenue and Sweetwater at about 6 p.m. on Oct. 27.
"The dirt bike was not licensed for roadway use and was not equipped with a headlight," the department said in a statement.
Deshawn was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition where he later died.
The officer was not injured.
