SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A 54-year-old man was booked into Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Jail on Monday after barricading himself to avoid arrest on Saturday night.

Stephen Douglas Ashburn barricaded himself in his apartment near 64th Street and Indian School Road for nearly four hours before Scottsdale SWAT team were able to take him into custody.
Police said a drone was used to see the man had a gun inside his apartment.
He didn't surrender until 3 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15 after chemical munitions were used to force his compliance.
SWAT techniques and chemicals were deployed after neighbors were evacuated in the middle of the night.
Ashburn was initially accused of assault charges and refused to allow police to take him into custody. He is now facing numerous other charges stemming from the incident.
