An Austin man is accused of selling pot brownies and cookies at a North Austin Sonic drive-in. That restaurant happens to be located right next to a police substation.
22-year-old Tyler Wallace worked as a carhop at the Sonic on Lamplight Village Avenue.
Police say someone sent them an anonymous email saying Wallace was selling cookies and brownies laced with THC, the active ingredient in marijuana.
According to the arrest affidavit, Wallace, who was on probation when he was arrested, told officers he was selling drugs in order to support his family.
Police say they tracked Wallace's car down at a hotel and when they stopped him he had a backpack with 47 hash candies inside.
Wallace was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a first degree felony. He's currently in the Travis County Jail with a bond totaling $50,000.
Wallace has several prior charges including unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a dangerous drug and fleeing police.
