Lawsuit claims discrimination, harassment within ASU PD
TEMPE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Current and former Arizona State University Police Department employees are filing a lawsuit claiming discrimination and corruption within the department.
According to the lawsuit, obtained by Fox 10, the police department forced the workers to change crime statistics to make the university appear safer than it actually is.
Five former police officers, and one current worker, claim that when officers objected, they were retaliated against.
They also claim the department would create false internal affairs investigations to punish them.
One worker says he was forced into retirement because of the harassment and discrimination within the department.
ASU has not commented on the lawsuit.
