Body recovered at Lake Pleasant

Dive teams have recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing at Lake Pleasant last weekend.

Authorities have recovered the body of a man who went missing after going underwater at Lake Pleasant.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to reports of a man who went swimming in the Humbug Cove area on Saturday, Aug. 6, and never came back up from the water.

On Aug. 12, MCSO said deputies recovered the body of 72-year-old Gregory Elias.

There were no signs of foul play.

Between April and June, there were six straight weekends of drowning calls at Lake Pleasant.
