Kurt Warner, wife Brenda give Valley family new home for the holidays
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - As if getting a new home for the holidays isn't thrilling enough, Kurt Warner, his wife Brenda, and a partnership with Aaron's made sure to put the big red bow on top!
The homes by Habitat for Humanity Homes were not handed over empty, but rather decked out with furniture, appliances, and technology.
"In addition to having all these things... it's amazing, I can't explain it," Julia Campos said.
Brenda, a former U.S. Marine, often says being a single mother before she met Kurt was tougher than serving, adding she knows how tough raising children alone can be.
"Nothing in my life has been as hard as being a single mom, so to be able to look them in the eye and say, 'I walked in your shoes and you're going to be OK,' that's the best part," she said.
It's all part of the former NFL star's First Things First Foundation's "Homes for the Holidays" program.
Single mother Julia Campos has three children and one on the way. She says this is truly the greatest gift.
"Best Christmas ever, this is the best thing that's ever happened to me, you know, besides my children," she said.
It's a tradition the Warners say they plan to continue for many years to come.
"To me, it's so much about you remember our first home, and what that did for our family," Kurt said. "Knowing that you're going to create memories here."
