GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Forensic testing shows human remains found at a remote property near Wittmann are related to a Glendale homicide case.
But Glendale police announced Thursday that a full DNA match must be obtained prior to confirmation and identification of the case and victim.
They say that process may take several weeks and details won't be released until then.
Wittmann Fire Department officials say a man was walking through a burned-down house Sunday and found a human skull.
Fire department officials then notified the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's detectives reported Monday that partial human remains were found in an old, abandoned shed on the Whispering Ranch property.
They say a pelvis and some smaller bones have been recovered, but not a complete skeleton.
Wittmann is located 35 miles northwest of Phoenix.
