Harvey Weinstein's sober coach speaks out after movie-mogul was attacked at a Scottsdale restaurant

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Harvey Weinstein's sober coach, Joe Polish, is speaking out after TMZ obtained video Tuesday night of Weinstein being attacked.

The video shows Weinstein and Polish leaving the Elements Restaurant in Scottsdale when Weinstein was approached and slapped by another customer.

The movie mogul continued to walk away as Polish tried to block the camera.

"What happened in the restaurant was an individual looking for their 15 minutes of fame, looking for an opportunity to record a video by provoking Harvey," Polish said. "If you were attacked in a situation like that, it would put a lot of fear on you, you would feel like a hunted animal. You would feel like someone it trying to attack you. In reality, this person attacked a 65-year-old person and you have to separate what you think of Harvey from the situation."

After the incident, Polish says the two of them discussed that he needed to just continue to work on himself.

Polish has been working with Weinstein as one of his sober coaches since December.

Weinstein has been in Arizona over the last few months receiving treatment, according to reports.

Dozens of women have accused Weinstein of rape and abuse.

"A lot of these people have done a lot of damage to themselves and to others so my whole thing is to come into that without judgment," Polish said. "The whole goal was, I'm willing to do this as long as he's willing to be accountable and do the work and I will support him."
