Goodyear police say teens could face drug charges

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) -- Police say they'll be submitting charges to a juvenile court after two teenage boys allegedly gave prescription pills to a dozen students at a Goodyear school.

Authorities say seven students at the Centerra Mirage School were sickened after taking the pills Tuesday and six were treated and released from a hospital.

The six students were between the ages of 12-15.

Goodyear police say it's believed that two 13-year-old boys distributed their own prescription medication to students at the school.

The type of drugs isn't immediately known and will be determined by the Arizona Department of Public Safety laboratory.

Police say the unidentified boys could be facing felony charges of possession of drugs in a drug-free zone and transfer of prescription-only drugs plus a misdemeanor charge of possession of prescription drugs.
