With the gorgeous weather we've been getting, we're doing a happy dance just like this awesome giraffe, Potoka! He lives at Brookfield Zoo in Chicago and is 2 years old.
The other giraffes are Arnieta, 10, Jasiri, 11, and Mithra, 26.
Spring is in the air which means staff members are allowed to release the giraffes into their outdoor habitat, called The Savannah exhibit. And Potoka took full advantage of it.
Reticulated giraffes are native to northeast Kenya in Africa, so the outdoor temperature at the zoo needs to be at least 45-50°F for them to have access outside.
Did you know...Giraffes only spend between 10 minutes and two hours asleep per day. They have one of the shortest sleep requirements of any mammal.
Look at the excitement!
Looks like we're not the only ones excited about the warm weather! Potoka pranced and our whole herd of reticulated giraffes enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather.
