A former Tucson middle school teacher has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to making a death threat against a state lawmaker.

Donald Glenn Brown was sentenced to two and a half years behind bars on June 6 in Navajo County court.

The former music teacher pleaded guilty in April to a charge of attempting to make a terrorist threat.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says Brown sent an email to the "Trumped Store" in Show Low, threatening to open fire on the store and kill Arizona State Sen. Wendy Rogers.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says Donald Brown sent an email to the "Trumped Store" in Show Low, threatening to open fire on the store and kill Arizona State Sen. Wendy Rogers.

Brown resigned from his job after he was arrested, saying he was "utterly and terribly ashamed."
