A prominent valley doctor who dedicated his life to helping kids with cancer, was killed Monday morning in a hit and run crash.
Dr. Robert Arceci was riding his motorcycle to his job at Phoenix Children's Hospital when he was killed.
The crash happened near 69th Street and Shea Boulevard.
Officers say Dr. Arceci was traveling west on Shea when a landscaping truck turned left right in front of him.
That is when the doctor collided with the truck and later died at the scene.
The truck pulled over and waited for police to respond, but the driver fled, leaving two passengers at the scene.
Now police are still looking for the driver who ran.
Dr. Arceci was the Director of the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Hermatology and Oncology at PCH.
He also served as a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
Dr. Arceci was well-known in the medical community, his loss is not only weighing heavily on his family, but on his colleagues and those who he helped treat.
