A bizarre rescue was caught on camera by the Clayton County Sheriff's Office.

A woman fell from a tree as a Clayton County deputy stood ready to catch her.

The sheriff said the woman has mental health issues and had just been released from the Clayton County Jail.

After her release, authorities said she climbed up the tree in the jail parking lot and refused to come down.

Deputies noticed the tree branch was starting to break and so one of them stood below, ready to make the catch.

The sheriff said the deputy bore the brunt of the woman's fall and suffered minor injuries. He was treated on the scene.

The woman is expected to be okay.
