(Earlier Video) Portion of I-10 closed due to deadly crash
The crash happened near Interstate 10 and Wild Horse Pass, which is located south of Ahwatukee. Officials say a person died after exiting a disabled vehicle.
PHOENIX - Officials with the Arizona Department of Transportation say a portion of Interstate 10 has reopened to traffic, hours after a crash prompted its closure.
According to an earlier statement by ADOT officials, the crash happened along the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Wild Horse Pass Boulevard.
"A male subject exited a disabled vehicle off the highway and walked out onto the Interstate where he was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer," DPS wrote, in a statement released after the crash. "The investigation is ongoing, although troopers have not ruled out suicide."
The freeway's westbound lanes, according to ADOT officials, were not affected by the crash.
