MESA, Ariz. - Officials with the Mesa Police Department say crews have recovered a body that was found floating in a canal on Oct. 31.
In a brief initial statement, police officials said they received a call at around 8:52 a.m. on Oct. 31 regarding the body, which was found near Brown and Loop 202.
"The reporting party was riding a bike on the canal when they saw the body and called police," read a portion of the brief statement.
In a subsequent statement, police officials said the body, identified as that of a male, was turned over to the Medical Examiner.
"There has been no positive identification yet on who this person is," read a portion of a statement released by Mesa Police officials.
Officials also note that trauma does not appear to be a factor in the incident.
