PHOENIX - Dry conditions are partnered with temperatures that are pretty mild for this time of year, but we have change on the horizon, and it's just in time for Christmas. So let's get to the details.
Most of the state has clear conditions, but we do notice there's a little bit of action along the eastern edge of the state. Now, to be fair, although radar is showing some flecks of green-- moisture is making it to the ground – maybe a sprinkle out there, but for the most part, it's just some clouds that are overhead along the eastern edge of the state near the White Mountains.
Forecast highs for today: 60 degrees for Show Low and 72 in Globe. Looking at 59 for Lake Havasu City and 76 here in the Valley, which falls tonight down to 51 degrees. Still kind of mild in areas like Sedona and Payson, but below freezing though, 26 for a low tonight and 22 in Flagstaff. So it's colder than this morning by tomorrow morning. But the big cold blast that will arrive Thursday -- that's really going to be the big change maker.
There's a cold front that by tomorrow morning we should be starting to see ahead of the front. Some breezy conditions behind the front, that cooler air, and watch as it chugs along. It's almost perfect timing. By Christmas morning, a few scattered rain and snow showers for northern Arizona are possible. This is a very spotty chance, but maybe a few spots in northern Arizona could wake up to a little bit of a white Christmas.
