Police investigating domestic violence shooting in Chandler

The shooting happened in the area of Dobson and Frye Roads, and police say a suspect is in custody. The identities of those involved have not been released.

Chandler Police officials say they have arrested a man in connection to a domestic violence-related shooting that left his wife dead. 

According to police, officers responded just before 11:30 a.m. on March 14 to an apartment complex near Dobson and Frye Roads. Once at the scene, police found 38-year-old Mohammad Alkurdi and his four children outside.

Inside the family's apartment, police found the children's mother with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The victim's identity is not being released at this time, as notification to family members in other countries is still being conducted," police said.

Alkurdi was arrested and booked into jail. He is accused of first-degree murder.
