Man killed in fiery Chandler crash identified
Chandler Police officials have identified a man who died following a fiery crash near McQueen and Knox.
CHANDLER, Ariz. - Police say a driver is dead following a fiery crash in Chandler.
The crash also knocked out power to a number of residents in the area for some time.
What we know:
Per a statement from Chandler Police, the crash happened near McQueen and Knox Roads. Crews were called to the scene at around 9:00 p.m. on Feb. 9, following reports of a car that had collided with a poll in the area.
Police say the car caught fire as a result of the crash. The victim, identified as 27-year-old David Ramirez Velasco, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Per officials, power was restored to affected residents a few hours after the crash.

An investigation is underway, and police say they are looking into speed and impairments as possible factors in relation to the crash.
