Business owner encourages employees to carry a gun

There is one insurance office in Georgia that is anything but boring.

A small firm with 12 employees sprinkled around three branches is getting attention from across the nation.

The reason is because the all female staff is packing heat. Owner Lance Toland said he will purchase a gun for any employee who goes through proper procedures and licensing.

Toland has been in business for more than three decades. He said he never forgot the murder of a clerk for another insurance firm located in Zebulon.

Since he made the suggestion, Toland said his staff of all women welcome the idea with 100 percent participation.

The outside reaction so far is mostly positive. And he said he is getting more attention than he ever imagined, with media from around the country weighing in.
