PHOENIX - In the NICU at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, adorable tiny hats are waiting for some very special babies.
They're tiny crocheted beanies, to help bring comfort to babies who are fighting for their lives.
The beanies are knit by a group called "A Common Thread," which in partnership with the March of Dimes donates more than 1,000 beanies every year. Leann Hardin, the nursing director there, says the families of these babies greatly appreciate the support.
"They love the fact that somebody has taken the time to knit or crochet something for their baby especially," she told Fox 10 Phoenix. "I think it feels a little bit like grandma made it for them and so it feels like home."
The tiny hats are a small gesture, but they make a huge difference in the lives of both these babies and their families.
