COTTONWOOD, Ariz. - The Verde Valley Fire District said one of its firefighters has died from complications of COVID-19.
The department said Tyrone Bell, a four-year veteran of the department, died Monday.
"Tyrone was a dedicated public servant who began his career working for Verde Valley Ambulance Company and was a Reserve Firefighter for the Clarkdale and Verde Valley Fire Districts before being hired full time at Verde Valley Fire in 2017," the department said in a statement on Oct. 18.

Funeral services for Bell will be held on Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cottonwood. The service will be open to family, friends, and firefighters. A cemetery service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the public is encouraged to consider donating to the Meal Train fund established for Bell's wife and son.
