Here's a look at the latest police investigations, fires, crashes and other incidents that are happening around the Valley for Oct. 9-15.

October 14

  • 19th Avenue and Cactus Road, Phoenix: A woman was struck by a car in Phoenix and she died after being taken to the hospital. The driver who hit her is cooperating in the investigation, police said.
  • Bell and Litchfield roads, Surprise: The Surprise Fire Department, along with a few other agencies, rescued a dog from a burning home. Nine people are also displaced after the house fire. A cause hasn't been determined.
  • Camelback and Scottsdale roads, Scottsdale: Scottsdale Police said a car was on fire at or near a restaurant and apartment complex. No one was hurt and the fire has been put out.
  • McKinley Street and 1st Avenue, Phoenix: "Just before 12:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of 1st Avenue and McKinley Street regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two adult males with gunshot wounds. The suspect(s) in this incident took off from the scene prior to police arrival. The men were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Information gathered suggests that the victims were engaged in a verbal argument with multiple other persons during which the victims were shot. Detectives responded to assume the investigation. What led up to the shooting remains part of the ongoing investigation," Phoenix Police said.
  • Adams Avenue and Van Buren Street, Phoenix: "Around 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the area of 28th Avenue and Madison Street regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult male with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers remain on scene conducting the related investigation. It appears this injury may be the result of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound," Phoenix Police said.
  • I-17 and New River Road, north of Phoenix: Daisy Mountain Fire and Medical responded to reports of a crash near New River Road and I-17 in northbound lanes.
  • 35th Avenue and Bell Road, Phoenix: Phoenix Fire responded to a house fire in the area.

October 13

  • Banner Desert Medical Center: Officers responded to Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa for reports of a dog in distress. Once at the hospital, the officers encountered the dog's owner, who was "extremely irate" that the officers were there. The man refused to identify himself and police say he assaulted an officer. The man was taken into custody and will be booked into jail.
  • 16th Street and Broadway Road: A motorcyclist, 23-year-old Armando Andrade Berumen Jr., died at the hospital following a crash involving another vehicle. Police say impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash, but speed is considered to be a factor.
  • El Mirage Road and Wescott Drive: One person is in critical condition following a crash at the intersection. It's unknown what caused the accident.

  • Man beaten to death at Phoenix dollar store: 'Violently assaulted'
  • Williams Field and Power roads, Gilbert: The Gilbert Fire Department responded to a house fire.
  • 190th Avenue and Narramore Road: Firefighters responded to a boat and RV that were on fire in Goodyear. No injuries were reported.
  • 75th Avenue and Durango Street: A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being hit by a car. The driver stayed at the scene.

October 9

  • Loop 101 and Bell Road, Scottsdale: ADOT says a crash on Loop 101 and Bell Road stopped traffic.
  • 32nd Avenue and Van Buren Street, Phoenix: A man was shot and taken to the hospital. He's expected to be OK.
  • 38th Avenue and Polk Street: Police say a man was shot by his brother during an argument. The victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim's brother was detained and is cooperating with investigators.
  • McQueen and Warner Roads: No one was hurt when a fire burned a home in Gilbert.
  • 35th Avenue and Indian School Road: Three people were displaced following a house fire.
