PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Over 12 people are without a home after their complex caught fire on Monday night.
The Phoenix Fire Department tells Fox 10 that the fire happened just after 9 p.m., near 27th Avenue and Campbell. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the the first floor was fully engulfed in flames, and the blaze was quickly upgraded to a first-alarm fire.
Residents, who were trapped on the second floor, had to be rescued and they were all pulled out safely.
Two units in the complex were destroyed by the fire, but firefighters were able to save 14 units from sustaining any major damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the Red Cross is helping six people who were displaced by the fire.
