5-year-old battling heart condition gets wish granted
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A little girl is battling a life-threatening condition but thanks to Make-A-Wish Arizona she was able to take a trip to the happiest place on earth.
It may be early in the morning but 5-year-old Veronica isn't even close to being tired.
"I'm going to meet Belle, so the wish granters gave me this," she said.
Her wish granters decked her out with the best Belle gear possible and are sending Veronica and her family on an American Airlines flight to Disney World for seven days.
"It's amazing what they're able to do for us," Veronica's mom said. "We never thought we would be able to do something like this so it's... I don't have words for it."
Life hasn't been easy for Veronica. Since she was born, she's been in and out of hospitals, seen many doctors and had to battle a life-threatening heart condition.
"We've had five years with her where she didn't breathe as well as she could, and this last surgery, she has all the oxygen she needs just in time to go to Walt Disney World," said John Fowler, Veronica's dad. "
It's a morning of celebration with many famous friends sending her off, but just one thing is missing.
"What princess do you want to see?" FOX 10's Liz Kotalik asked.
"Belle," Veronica replied.
It's another wish granted for a deserving little girl.
Last year Make-A-Wish Arizona made 365 dreams come true and this year they are planning to grant even more.
