GLENDALE, Ariz. - A gunfight in a Glendale neighborhood has detectives investigating where more than 40 shell casings from multiple firearms came from.
Police were alerted to the high-volume shoot out thanks to a shot spotter in the area. Shot spotter is a program that pinpoints where gun and fire activity is taking place and alerts officers immediately.
Officers arrived at the scene on Saturday, Dec. 7 around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Oregon Avenue and Camelback Road.
There, they found several houses struck by gunfire and dozens of bullet shell casings on the street and in the grass within the small perimeter.
They say the shell casings indicate various firearms with different caliber rounds were used in the gunfight.
By the time they arrived, the shooters involved had already fled.
An investigation to find the responsible parties is underway.
