The All-Star Game showcased top talent from Major League Baseball as the American League faced off against the National League. In an exciting matchup, the American League emerged victorious, winning 5-3 and securing their 10th win in the past 11 All-Star Games.

Duran Leads AL to Victory in All-Star Game

Boston's Jarren Duran, the All-Star MVP, hit a crucial two-run homer in the fifth inning, leading the American League to a 5-3 victory over the National League on Tuesday night. This win marks the AL's 10th triumph in the past 11 All-Star Games.

Pittsburgh rookie Paul Skenes started strong for the NL, pitching a hitless first inning and reaching speeds of 100 mph. Shohei Ohtani hit a three-run homer in the third, giving the AL an early 3-0 lead. However, the NL tied the game in the same inning with a two-run double by Juan Soto and a single from David Fry.

Duran’s homer off Cincinnati's Hunter Greene broke the tie, making him the fifth Boston player to be named All-Star MVP. Oakland's Mason Miller secured the win with a perfect inning, including a 103.6 mph pitch, the fastest in All-Star Game history since tracking began in 2008.

Hard-throwing Cleveland closer Emmanuel Clase struck out two in the ninth inning to save the game. The AL has a 48-44-2 record in the All-Star Game, having won nine in a row before the NL's victory last year.

Bruce Bochy makes history with wins in both leagues

Bruce Bochy, manager of the Texas Rangers, became the first to win World Series titles and All-Star Games in both leagues. Bochy now has a 2-3 record as an All-Star manager, having led the National League to a win in 2011. He won the World Series three times with the San Francisco Giants in 2010, 2012, and 2014, and then guided the Rangers to their first championship last year.

MLB regular season resumes with key matchups

The MLB regular season resumes Friday with 14 games, except for Milwaukee and Minnesota, which won't play until Saturday. Philadelphia (62-34) holds the best record in the majors, and Cleveland (58-37) has the best winning percentage in the AL. Baltimore and the New York Yankees also have 58 wins each.
