13-year-old offers up Xbox, works extra to buy mom a car

A 13-year-old boy worked extra jobs to make money and even offered up his Xbox to buy his struggling mother a car.

Krystal June Preston says the past couple weeks had been filled with heartache, tears, and anger, after recently having to start life over with her three kids and three dogs and no transportation, according to KOLO in Nevada.

Preston said she thought her son, William, was joking when he came home and told her he bought her a car, but there it was right in front of her. "Mom, that's your car," William told her.

"I completely lost it. I started balling my eyes out.. I am speechless my 13 year old son bought me a car," Preston wrote on Facebook.

William, who does lawn mowing and yard cleaning, said he was scrolling through Facebook when he saw a woman selling a 1999 white Chevrolet Metro, so he asked if he could trade for it or earn it. "It was really cheap so I asked if I could trade the Xbox or earn it," he said. At first she said no, but then she said yes, William said.

That's when his mother said she received the surprise of a lifetime from her hardworking son.

"At my low point, here comes my son," Krystal Preston told KOLO. "Everybody goes through rough patches in their life, but there's good that can come from any situation as long as somebody with a heart does it."
