'Peak Fire' breaks out along 118 Freeway near Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (FOX 11) - A fast-moving, 105-acre brush fire broke out Monday along the 118 Freeway near the Los Angeles/Ventura county line in Simi Valley.
Dubbed the "Peak Fire," it was reported just after 10 a.m. along the 118 Freeway and Rocky Peak, located in the Santa Susana Pass.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department issued an immediate evacuation order for residents in the Box Canyon and Lake Manor areas of Los Angeles County.
The 118 Freeway was temporarily shut down in both directions between Yosemite and Topanga Canyon before the fire was fully extinguished.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were also battling the Woolsey Fire, and a third brush fire Monday in Ventura County near Hillcrest and Ventu Park Road dubbed the "Lynn Fire."
