Woman critically injured after being rescued from garbage truck
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix police say a woman is in extremely critical condition after she was rescued from a garbage truck early Monday morning.
According to Sgt. Vince Lewis, the woman was inside a dumpster near 23rd Avenue and Peoria when it was picked up for service by a garbage truck and its contents were compacted.
Police say the woman was rescued from the garbage truck and taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.
Phoenix police also say another person was inside the dumpster but was able to escape before the dumpster was picked up by the garbage truck, and that person left the area before police arrived.
