Las Vegas shooting survivor talks about moving forward one year later
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A Las Vegas shooting survivor is talking about the incident one year later.
Michelle Leonard was there when Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd. She tells us how she is dealing with after effects of the shooting.
"The PTSD is real," says Leonard. "It's something that doesn't go away. I wake up everyday and I remember because of my injuries that I have. I've lost my job because I can't do this work anymore. Physically and mentally it's changed my life upside down."
Leonard says she also deals with memory loss, can't exercise and can't sleep normally because of the post traumatic stress disorder.
She will have to have surgery to have a pacemaker inserted due to some of her injuries she suffered from that day.
Leonard says Monday is not about closing the book but about starting a new chapter to move on.
