Ex-MMA fighter pleads not guilty to assaulting woman
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A former professional mixed martial arts fighter accused of assaulting an unconscious woman pleaded not guilty in court on Tuesday.
Rodolfo Ramirez, 28, is accused of picking up an unconscious woman outside of a bar in Old Town Scottsdale, carrying her to a parking garage and sexually assaulting her. Police say Ramirez was caught on surveillance video picking up the woman off the sidewalk and throwing her over his shoulder before she was attacked.
Ramirez then allegedly took her back to his home, sexually assaulted her two more times and then dropped her off an a Tempe intersection.
The victim's friend told police she left her on the sidewalk when she went to go pick up here car.
Ramirez's next court date is December 28.
