Authorities investigate apparent murder-suicide in Apache Junction
APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. (FOX 10) - The Pinal County Sheriff's Office and Apache Junction Police Department are investigating what appears to be an apparent murder-suicide.
In a press release, authorities say Goodyear Police contacted Apache Junction Police for help locating Stuart Milne, 30, who was possibly suicidal, on Friday, February 8. Goodyear Police believe Milne was possibly armed and had made threats to his girlfriend, Natasha Arredondo.
Police say Arredondo's family reported her missing Friday night after her son was found home alone.
Officers in Apache junction located Milne's vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Police say as they approached the vehicle Milne wouldn't show his right hand and they then heard a shot. Officers found Milne had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene. It was also discovered Milne was on the phone with Goodyear Police when he was stopped.
Authorities say Saturday morning a citizen contacted PCSO to report a body found in an industrial park near Houston and Delaware Roads. Deputies responded to the area to find a female body shot several times. The body was identified as Natasha Arredondo.
Investigators believe Milne shot Arredondo. PCSO is handling the homicide investigation.
